The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) opened, this Thursday (9), registrations for the second session of SINGED Lab - Disasters training, aimed at public managers, private managers and other professionals who work in disaster prevention, mitigation, response and in reconstruction of areas affected by environmental calamities.
The training is free of charge and aims to introduce tools, data, and statistical, geographic and environmental information that can support risk and emergency management.
The second session will take place on July 27, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, with up to 1,000 available places. Registration is open until July 20 at: https://www.ibge.gov.br/singedlab-desastres.
During the course, participants will access content on the use of territorial, statistical, and geoscientific information applied to the prevention of and response to extreme weather events. Resources available for data consultation and analysis—which can support planning, monitoring, and response activities regarding risk situations—will be presented.
The training will be conducted by IBGE technical staff and will cover methods for accessing and using information produced by the Institute to support actions related to risk and disaster management.
Participants who complete the activity will receive a certificate issued by the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE/IBGE).
