IBGEeduca promotes free holiday workshop at Casa Brasil IBGE, in downtown Rio de Janeiro

IBGEeduca will hold, in July, the holiday workshop “Travel through Brazil with information from the IBGE,” a free initiative that combines learning and recreational activities to present aspects of the Brazilian territory, population and diversity to the public. The program will take place at Casa Brasil IBGE, located at Palácio da Fazenda, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, and will be open to the general public.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide an interactive experience, inviting participants to embark on a “journey” through the information produced by the IBGE. The activity will feature a brief presentation about IBGEeduca and a dynamic based on educational games, allowing children, young people and adults to learn more about Brazil in a fun and accessible way.
In addition to the general public, classes from public and private schools will also be able to participate. Educational institutions interested in taking their students must request registration by email [email protected].
Two classes will be offered, on July 16 and July 21, both from 2 pm to 4 pm. The activities will take place at Casa Brasil IBGE, located on the ground floor of the Palácio da Fazenda, at 375 Presidente Antônio Carlos Avenue, in downtown Rio de Janeiro.
Participation is free and registration must be done in advance through the Internet. Minors must be registered by their guardians and be accompanied during the workshop. It will also be possible to register on site, on the day of the event, subject to availability of places.
In addition to educational activities, visitors will have the opportunity to visit the Palácio da Fazenda, a historical building listed by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan ), which houses Casa Brasil IBGE and the Finance Museum. Located in an area full of cultural and tourist attractions, the place also offers the possibility of a tour through the Historical Center of Rio de Janeiro.
