Brazil discusses postal addressing standards

Where do you live? We are asked that question on several different occasions, for example, when buying goods online. When informing the address, however, we do not often realize the history behind it and the diversity of information that can be associated with it.
The increase of cities has led to the need of an addressing system that can show where people are. The addresses today are points distributed all over the territory, by means of which it is possible to locate varied information in space. In this respect, addressing has becoming an essential element of statistical activity.
Because of the relevance of this system, Brazil has been investing in the creation of its own pattern of addresses, by means of a work conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management and other related bodies.
