IBGE finishes first selection process for 2017 Census of Agriculture

"The candidates who were approved in the selection process should prepare the documentation required and wait for the telegrams, which will be sent starting today via state branches", says the coordinator of Human Resources, Bruno Malheiros. Documents are essential to confirm the necessary requirements concerning nationality, voting and military obligations, minimum age and schooling. The list of the approved candidates to work in the 2017 Census of Agriculture was released on Thursday, August 10. The Getúlio Vargas Foundation made the list available on the Internet. Registrations began in April and the exams took place in July 2. More than 72 thousand persons took part in the selection process.

All the approved candidates will be entitled to food and transportation aid, vacation and Christmas bonuses. The working hours system is of 40 hours per week. The temporary contracts should last up to 13 months for the Enumeration Analysts, 10 months for Administrative Enumeration Agents, 9 months for Regional Enumeration Agents and 7 months for Data Processing Enumeration Agents. The contracts are effective for 30 days and might or not be successively extended by the same period, according to the collection schedule and budget availability for the 2017 Census of Agriculture. The professional performances of the hired staff will be monthly evaluated on the grounds of work quality, commitment, assiduity, deadlines met and productivity.

There were 1,038 temporary job posts for Enumeration Analyst, a career for candidates with a university degree, in 17 fields of knowledge: Agronomy, Systems Analysis, Socioeconomic Analysis, Librarianship, Accounting, Geoprocessing, Management and Infrastructure, Journalism, Logistics, Quantitative Methods, Graphic/Editorial Production, Visual Programming, Human Resources. Those areas have the same monthly compensation: R$4 thousand. The three secondary-education careers offer earnings of R$1,500 for Administrative Enumeration Agent, of R$1,700 for Data Processing Enumeration Agent and of R$2,500 for Regional Enumeration Agent.

The legislation in force forbids the hiring of direct or indirect administration servants at federal, state, municipal spheres and from the Federal District, as well as employees or servants of their subsidiaries and affiliates. There are also restrictions to those who have been hired as temporary workers by any public body in the last 24 months.

The 10th Census of Agriculture of the IBGE starts in October 1st of 2017. For five months, the enumerators will be visiting more than 5 million agricultural establishments all over the country, collecting information on area, production, characteristics of the employed persons, irrigation techniques, herbicides and family farming, among other topics. The results of the 2017 Census of Agriculture will be disseminated by the IBGE in 2018.
