Education and transportation to push inflation forecast in February

With the beginning of the school year, tuition adjustments contributed to a 4% increase in education in February. The general index was 0.38%, according to data from the IPCA-15, released today by IBGE. The increases in regular courses caused the highest individual impact on the inflation forecast of the month, reaching around 5.24% in the country and 8% in Goiânia. The various courses also registered increase (3.55%), the highest one in Rio de Janeiro (6.44%).
The transportation group was influenced by the increase in fuel prices (1.78% for gasoline and 3.11% for ethanol), in taxis and bus tickets. For fuels, the highest increases occurred in Salvador, where gasoline was 7.82% more expensive and ethanol, 7.65%.
