Contractees will work on the Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture and the National Census of Homeless Population
The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) was authorized to temporarily hire 39,108 people to carry out the next Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture and the first National Census of Homeless Population. The authorization was published this Wednesday (December 17), in a joint ordinance of the Ministries of Management and Innovation in Public Services and Planning and Budget.
The hiring aims to enable the operationalization of census surveys. The activities range from technical planning to the data collection, supervision and processing of information throughout the national territory.
The president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, commented on the authorization to carry out the simplified selection process. "President Lula's government authorized the carrying out of the simplified selection process with nearly 39,108 temporary vacancies to reinforce the IBGE workforce in carrying out two essential census surveys: the 2025 Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture and the Census of Homeless Population," explained him.
And Pochmann added: “The majority of these vacancies will be allocated to the role of enumerator, responsible for collecting data in the field, reflecting the size and strategic importance of mapping both the agricultural sector and the reality of homeless people in Brazil. These censuses are essential to provide updated information that supports public policies in rural, environmental and social assistance areas, including strategies to combat homelessness."
According to the executive director of the IBGE, Flávia Vinhaes, authorization from the ministries is a starting point for carrying out the surveys. “With the hiring, we are moving towards fulfilling the work plan proposed at the beginning of the administration,” said Vinhaes.
The hiring of the panel responsible for the simplified selection process is underway and the notice will be published within six months, counting from the publication of the normative act. The contracts will be signed in accordance with Law No. 8,745, of 1993, with compensation defined according to legal criteria related to the relevance and complexity of the functions.
According to the IBGE's coordinator of Human Resources, Bruno Malheiros, the authorization for a new simplified selection process marks an advance in the Institute's structuring project. "The hiring of almost 40 thousand people will allow the organization of the workforce necessary to carry out field activities, ensuring coverage, technical quality and compliance with survey schedules," stated Malheiros.
