Bahia will receive more than four tonnes of IBGE´s dissemination material

Organized by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the National Conference of Data Producers and Users is an event of international magnitude, which reveals an invaluable role in contributing to the repositioning of the institution as one of the major protagonists in the field of production and dissemination of quality public data and information on a global level.
It is also a return to the aggregating and coordinating role of the IBGE, reflected not only in our country, but perceived throughout the international community. This role dates back to the 1950s, when Brazil hosted the World Statistics Congress and the International Geography Congress.
In 2025, the Conference takes on an unprecedented and historical dimension: for the first time since its creation in 1968, it will be held outside of Rio de Janeiro, arriving to Salvador, Bahia , between December 3 and 5, at the facilities of SENAI Cimatec and SESI, with support of the Federation of Industries of Bahia (FIEB) and the Government of the State of Bahia. The theme will be “A proposal for a General Statistical and Geographic Information Plan (PGIEG) for the Development of Brazil in the Digital Age, in the period between 2026 and 2030.”
Still in Salvador, in the first two weeks of December, another important event will be held: the first Pilot Test of the 12th Census of Agriculture, Forestry and Aquaculture.

To support and disseminate information to event participants, the IBGE structured and prepared numerous pieces of equipment, materials and publications that present, describe and contribute to a greater understanding of debates and discussions, in addition to providing greater understanding regarding the role played by the Institute today.
