2022 Census
In Juiz de Fora (MG), IBGE will release the main characteristics of Quilombola persons and households

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release the results of the “2022 Population Census: Quilombolas - Main characteristics of persons and households, by urban or rural location of the household, with population results” on May 9, at 10 am, in Juiz de Fora (MG), with information on the main demographic and social characteristics of the Quilombola people and households with at least one Quilombola resident. This data will be made available for Brazil, Major Regions, Federation Units, Municipalities, Legal Amazon, and Quilombola territories.
The event will take place at the Science Center of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), located at Rua João Lourenço Kelmer, Praça Cívica on the UFJF Campus, in Juiz de Fora (MG). The release will be broadcast on the IBGE web site and on the Institute's social media. In-person participation requires confirmation by email (eventos@ibge.gov.br) no later than May 8.
The ceremony will also feature the inauguration of the fourth branch of Casa Brasil IBGE, a space for memory and technology that brings together in one place the various areas of past, present and future IBGE. The other branches are in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Recife (PE) and Belém (PA).
On the same day, the Institute will hold a workshop for public managers, educators and students
Following the event, the IBGE will hold the workshop “A territory of information: potentialities of the 2022 Census data” for public managers, educators and students, from 2 pm to 6 pm.
In addition to the technical and operational aspects of the survey, the workshop will present its potentialities for decision-making by municipal or state managers. The topics covered include: what is the Census?, survey numbers, topics investigated in the releases, new features of the 2022 Census, and the information potential for local managers. Registration can be done through the IBGE store.
There will also be a presentation of tools such as the 2022 Census Overview, the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI), the IBGE Automatic Retrieval System (SIDRA) and the Environmental Information Database (BdiA). In addition to addressing other topics already released and the expected future releases.
The team for this workshop is made up of the technical manager for the IBGE's Technical Project for Traditional Peoples and Communities, Marta Antunes, and the Manager of Traditional Territories and Protected Areas of the Division of Territorial Structures, of the Directorate of Geosciences (DGC), Fernando Damasco.
