IBGE’s 90th-anniversary celebrations continue to gain momentum this week—from June 15 to 19—with ten additional events taking place across Brazil’s five regions. The schedule reinforces the nationwide scope of the celebrations, featuring institutional activities, thematic seminars, and tributes that expand the Institute's dialogue with partners and the general public.
Planned activities include formal sessions at legislative assemblies and thematic seminars held in the states of Amapá, Mato Grosso, Minas Gerais, Piauí, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Sergipe, and Tocantins. These events will bring together public officials, academic partners, and civil society representatives to discuss the IBGE’s role in producing strategic information for the country over the decades.
The IBGE will also participate in MundoGEO Connect 2026, Latin America’s leading geotechnology event, taking place from June 16 to 18 at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The event gathers experts and companies specializing in geospatial intelligence solutions, showcasing trends and innovations in cartography, remote sensing, geoprocessing, and related technologies.
At MundoGEO, the IBGE will present its key products and initiatives in the field of Geosciences to the public. Participation in the event also fosters the exchange of experiences, the formation of partnerships, and the monitoring of industry innovations. A highlight of this edition will be the 12th Census of Agriculture, demonstrating how the Institute applies technology and expertise to a nationwide operation.
The schedule of IBGE’s 90th-anniversary events is continuously updated as new activities are organized by the Institute's units. Follow upcoming events on the 90th-anniversary website at this link!
