IBGE representatives, from the Brazilian Association of Agribusiness (ABAG) and from the Organization of Brazilian Cooperatives (OCB) met on July 27 and 28, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), to work out the final details of the commitment terms in support of the dissemination of the 2017 Census of Agriculture, which will be on the field from October 1st on.

IBGE president, Roberto Olinto Ramos, highlighted the importance of collaboration among the institutions, "not only to support the dissemination of the Census of Agriculture, but also to establish a permanent network, which will be crucial for the future surveys the Institute intends to carry out on the rural sector."

In the meeting held on the 27th, ABAG executive director, Luiz Cornacchioni, stated that the leaflets of the Census of Agriculture will be distributed to the participants of the 16the Brazilian Agribusiness Congress, on August 7th in São Paulo (SP).  A version of the institutional video of the Census of Agriculture will be broadcast in the Congress and on the Internet. During the event, which will gather nearly a thousand representatives of agribusiness-related enterprises, the presidents of IBGE and ABAG will sign the cooperation agreement.

ABAG should also insert content related to the Census of Agriculture in the means of communication they have access to and work out partnerships with other entities of the sector. For Luiz Cornacchioni, Agribusiness enterprises are quite interested in the conduction of the Census of Agriculture, since the operation will provide the sector with fundamental and updated data.
