The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) invites the public to the reopening of Casa Brasil IBGE this Wednesday, the 21st, at 10 am, at the Palácio da Fazenda, located at Avenida Antônio Carlos, nº 375, in the center of Rio de Janeiro (RJ).

In the event, the President of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, will talk about the perspectives of the IBGE after the Conference of the Digital Era and about the advances in the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED). A new exhibition will be opened at the venue, as well.

Casa Brasil IBGE is a space for memory and technology, gathering in one place several IBGE areas so that visitors, whether in person or virtually, can view both the history of almost 90 years of the IBGE, as well as the paths and perspectives of the Institute for the coming decades.

On May 29 of this year, to celebrate the Institute's 88th anniversary, Casa Brasil IBGE was inaugurated and has received visitors, groups of school students and hosted events. Part of Casa IBGE's collection was used in the setting of the National Conference of Data Producers and Users, organized by the IBGE and held at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), from July 29 to August 2. After a brief pause, Casa Brasil IBGE resumes its activities and reopens with more items on display and a new schedule.
