President Marcio Pochmann meets with foreign correspondents at Casa G20

With the aim of showing the expansion of IBGE's role in the international scenario of the production of public statistics, the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, meets today, March 25th, at 4 pm, with some foreign correspondents, at Casa G20 (G20 House), in Rio de Janeiro RJ.
In this first meeting with the press that covers Brazil, the objective is to show the expansion of IBGE's role globally, presenting the institute's international initiatives throughout its history, current and future actions.
The G20 indicators surveyed by the IBGE will be presented at the meeting. The first study will be released on April 9th, also at G20 House. The invitation to the event will be announced this coming week and will be addressed to the national press, Brazilian authorities and representatives of powers and embassies, among others.
The IBGE is one of the biggest bodies in the world in the production of geosciences and statistics, having one of the largest databases and set of public indicators among the G20 countries.
On December 1, 2023, the city of Rio de Janeiro became the capital of the G20, having the Casa de Cultura Laura Alvim, in Ipanema, as the G-20 Embassy, until November 2024. The place is administered by the Anita Mantuano Arts Foundation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FUNARJ).
