The reimbursement of the enrollment rate to the candidates of the simplified selection process (PSS) of the 2021 Census, cancelled in October, begins this Friday (3). The IBGE also received today official authorization to carry out the new PSS that will select more than 206 thousand candidates for the 2022 Census in the entire country.

The reimbursement can be requested by the candidate on the IBGE portal, and the value will be reimbursed in up to 40 days after the request. This guideline is also valid for the reimbursement to those enrolled in the PSS of the 2020 Census.

The deposit will be made only in the candidate´s bank account. It cannot be made in saving accounts, salary accounts, joint accounts or third-party´s accounts. The CPF should also be regular in the Federal Revenue.

The enrollments for the selection processes of 2020 and 2021 will not be valid for the new PSS of the 2022 Census.

See the step-by-step to receive the money back

- Access the IBGE portal;

- Inform the CPF and the last four digits of the cell phone or the email registered in the enrollment;

- Fill the data of the bank account (bank, branch and account numbers);

- Take note of the protocol number that will be produced to follow up the request.

Those who do not have bank accounts can withdraw the value of the enrollment rate in Banco do Brazil from January 17 onwards. To do this, they should access the IBGE website to request the bank order. Only after that they can head to any Banco do Brasil branch to withdraw the money.

IBGE will reimburse rates to more than 580 thousand candidates of the PSS of the 2021 Census

The values will be reimbursed to 583,606 candidates enrolled in the selection in 2021, which offered 181,898 positions for enumerators, 16,959 for supervisor census agents (ACSs) and 5.450 for municipal census agents (ACMs). The enrollment rate was R$25.77 for enumerators and R$39.49 for ACMs and ACSs.

The IBGE will also continue to reimburse the rate of the selection process cancelled in 2020. Altogether, 31,820 persons did not request the money back yet. The reimbursement of the enrollment rate of that selection process began in May last year. The reimbursement request, which was being made through the IBGE´s Call Center, will now be carried out only through the IBGE website. The rates were R$35.80 for the functions with secondary education and R$23.61 for the functions with primary education.

In case of doubt on the reimbursement of the enrollment rates, candidates should contact the IBGE´s Call Center through telephone 0800 721 8181 or email ibge@ibge.gov.br, from Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 6 PM, and Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, from 10 AM to 2 PM.

The selection process of the 2020 Census was cancelled due to the pandemic. In the beginning of 2021, the IBGE opened a new selection, but it had to cancel the enrollment in April, due to the lack of resources to carry out the survey.  In May, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) established that the Union should guarantee the resources available for the Census and the IBGE resumed the selection process, cancelling, in October, the contract with Cebraspe, the company that would carry out the selection.

New selection process for the 2022 Census

The IBGE received today (3) official authorization to carry out the PSS that will select more than 206 thousand candidates for the 2022 Census in the entire country. The information was published by the Special Department of Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government in the Official Gazette.

This PSS will select 207,020 temporary agents for the functions of municipal census agent (5,500 positions), supervisor census agent (18,420 positions) and enumerator (183,100 positions). All the Brazilian municipalities will have positions available. Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) is the organizing company. Always through its official channels, the IBGE will soon release new notices related to the enrollment schedule and other information.

The enrollments for the selection processes of 2020 and 2021 will not be valid for the new PSS of the 2022 Census. Those interested should enroll again and pay the enrollment rate to participate in the new selection process. The Population Census will visit more than 70 million households in all the Brazilian cities as of June next year.
