The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will launch its Work Plan for 2025 in all the Major Regions. The series of events starts on Monday, 27, in the North Region, in Belém, capital of Pará state, supported by the Superintendence for the Development of the Amazon (SUDAM), which will receive in its auditorium the opening event, from 10:30 am to 12 pm, with accreditation from 9 am. Simultaneously, there will be the Forum of Federal Managers, organized by SUDAM with representatives of each federal agency working on the topics being discussed.

This is the first time the IBGE will release its Work Plan in every Major Region. After Belém, there will be launch events in the Northeast, in Recife, on the 28th, in partnership with the Superintendence for the Development of Brazilian Northeast; Central West, in Brasília, on the 29th, in partnership with the Federal Data Processing Service; in the Southeast, in Vitória, on the 30th, in partnership with Jones dos Santos Institute, and in the South, in Porto Alegre, on the 31, in partnership with the Organization of Cooperatives in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. All the events will be held from 10:30 am to 12 pm, and will be streamed live on Digital IBGE (ibge.gov.br) and on social media channels of the Institute and its partners.

The Work Plan for 2025 was formed by contributions and dialogues with all the IBGE directorates, between the months of August and December in meetings that included impact simulation, design thinking, discussion of priorities, in a Commission formed by 22 civil servants, with two representatives from each different structuring areas of the Institute, besides representatives of state superintendencies and branches.

The Work Plan is a guide for strategical actions by the IBGE in 2015, moving towards the implementation of the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED), modernization of structures, preparation for the 12^th Agricultural Census, the Consumer Expenditure Survey, besides the 265 releases of programs and new processes, such as innovation.

The Plan also includes international activities and meetings between the IBGE and other official statistics institutions in events such as the  2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30),  the Presidency of Brazil and Mercosur and the IV Meeting of Social Development Agencies in Latin America and the Caribbean from PNUD, and the welcoming event for new civil servants - PINS (Program for the Integration of New Civil Servants), the 3^rd edition of IBGE 90 Years Dialogues, the new Confest and Confege with the review of the General Plan of Geographic and Statistical Information.

The Work Plan considers the regional issue, and will be launched in the states of Pará, Pernambuco, Federal District, Espírito Santo and Rio Grande do Sul,”,  stated the  President of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann.
