IBGE/ENCE reopened seats for two courses: Extracting Information from the IBGE and SIDRA. The courses are offered free of charge as self-instructional Distance Learning. They are open to any interested person and provide a certificate of completion. Enrollment for both courses is open until August 15 and they might be completed until August 31. The enrollment links are available on page https://ence.ibge.gov.br/index.php/portal-treinamento/cursos-abertos-ao-publico.
In the course Extracting Information from the IBGE, participants will learn concepts that guide the culture focused on the use of data for the extraction of information and different possibilities to extract data provided by the IBGE.
On the other hand, the course SIDRA will enable participants to perform basic actions in the IBGE System of Automatic Recovery (SIDRA), like researching, assembling charts, obtaining rankings, downloading and producing graphs and cartograms.
For those interested in taking both courses, as a better learning experience, we suggest that they are performed in the sequence presented to learn in a practical way how to find and extract information from the data produced by the IBGE.
The SIDRA course was developed by the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE), the higher education institution of the IBGE. The course Extracting IBGE Information was developed by ENCE in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the UN agency in charge of formulating and monitoring policies and programs on population and development. In case of any question, please send a message with the name of the course in the title to email capacitacao@ibge.gov.br.
