2022 Census: IBGE releases results about Indigenous population and localities in Rio de Janeiro

On December 19, at 10 am, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release the results of the 2022 Population Census: Indigenous Population Main characteristics of persons and of urban and rural housing units: Population Results. Another release will be of 2022 Population Census: Indigenous Localities. The event will be held at Casa Brasil IBGE, on the ground floor of Palácio da Fazenda, located downtown Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
In the publication on Indigenous population, the IBGE will cover the demography of Indigenous persons living in Brazil, and also literacy status, birth records, characteristics of housing units and household composition, by urban or rural location of their housing units.
In the other publication, results will refer to Indigenous localities. The IBGE will present a mapping of these localities and of other areas that concentrate Indigenous persons in the country.
The release of data will be streamed live on Digital IBGE, on the IBGE website and on the social media channels of the Institute. the results will be available on the IBGE website and on plataforms such as SIDRA, and the Census Overview and the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI), where the reults will also be available as interactive maps.
