Registrations to the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE) are open until October 4 for the Postgraduate Program in Population, Territory and Public Statistics. Up to 24 vacancies for the master's degree and up to 10 vacancies for the doctoral degree are offered, with scholarships from Capes and IBGE being offered. The academic year of the new classes begins in March 2020. Both ENCE master's and doctoral courses are graded 4 (out of a maximum 5) in the CAPES assessment system. The institution also offers 30 vacancies in the Lato Sensu Specialization Program in Environmental Analysis and Territory Management. Registrations are open until September 30. Classes will begin in March 2020. See the public notice here.

The ENCE’s Postgraduate Program has two lines of research: Population, Territory and Living Conditions and Production of Public Statistics. The former focuses on the study of population and territorial dynamics and on the population's living conditions, encompassing social, economic and environmental aspects, and the second one, on the planning and operation of censuses, sample surveys and administrative records used for the production of public statistics regarding population and territorial dynamics and the population’s living conditions.

The Specialization has 468 classroom-based credit hours distributed in three quarters, with classes on Mondays and Fridays,  in the morning. Technical visits and field activities are also carried out, preferably on Saturdays and within a maximum eight-hour period. The objective is to enhance professional qualification, contributing with technical, methodological and theoretical support, and presenting a critical point of view about the process of environmental/territorial planning and management and spatial production.
