ENCE enrolls for Specialization in Environmental Analysis and Territory Management

The National School of Statistical Sciences - ENCE opens enrollment for the selection process of the Lato Sensu Specialization Course in Environmental Analysis and Territory Management. Thirty seats will be offered in the course scheduled for March 2020. Those interested should enroll on the website https://portalence.ibge.gov.br/processoseletivo/or in person at André Cavalcanti Street, 106, 1st floor, room 105, Santa Teresa - Rio de Janeiro, between 10am and 7pm up to September 30, 2019. No tuition or enrollment rate will be charged.

The selection process has two eliminatory phases: tests will be held on October 11, 2019 and interviews, on December 9-10, 2019. Access here the public notice

Course favors critical view on environmental or territorial planning and management

The course aims at improving the education of professionals, providing a technical, methodological and theoretical basis and a critical view in relation to the processes of environmental and/or territorial planning and management, and production of space.

The program has a workload of 468 hours/class, distributed along three quarters. The course will be carried out on site, with classes in the morning from Monday to Friday. Technical visits and field activities will also be carried out, preferably on Saturdays, lasting up to eight hours. 

The curriculum framework explores the basic concepts and fundamental principles of ecology, demography, geography, sustainable development, public policies, environmental legislation, analysis of environmental impacts, environmental planning and management, land use and related themes. To complete the course, students should present a monograph.

The first class of the Specialization Course in Environmental Analysis and Territory Management was held in 1997 and we will have the 23rd class in 2020. The course was created to meet the increasing demand for professionals qualified to work in the area of environmental planning. In 22 years, the course has already trained more than 200 experts.
