The National Civil Construction Index (SINAPI), released today by the IBGE, grew by 0.35% in June, a result higher than the 0.11% in May. It is the lowest rate for the month since 2013, when the series with payroll exemption started.
According to survey analyst, Augusto Oliveira, the main influence for this result comes from the workforce share, which, even with a 0.24% increase, decelerated in relation to the months of June in recent years.
"Differently from what was seen in previous years, in June 2019, collective bargaining only occurred in the states of Acre and Pernambuco," he explains.
As a result, the North and Northeast Regions had the highest rates of the month, both with 0.54%, as well as the states of Pernambuco, with 2.37% increase, and Acre with 1.54%.
In the country as a whole, the average cost of construction in June was R$1,135.88, of which R$595.15 were related to materials and R$540.73 to workforce. The share of materials changed by 0.45% and the share of workforce, 0.24%. In relation to June 2018, the materials fell by 0.11 pp, and the workforce fell by 0.16 pp.
