IBGE presents report on the Brazilian Consumer Expenditure Survey (POF) at reopening of Casa Brasil IBGE

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release the results of the first stage of the Consumer Expenditure Survey on Friday (04), at 10 am, in an event that will mark the reopening of the Casa Brasil IBGE for visitors. The building, from now on, will also house the IBGE Store and Bookstore.
In the report, IBGE will show how the collection works in each Federation Unit and the new dissemination actions. The press conference also aims at increasing the support network between public and private agencies, entities, states and municipalities, among others, in supporting IBGE servants to reach more than 103 thousand families throughout the country.
The dissemination will be attended by IBGE's Director of Surveys, Gustavo Junger, the general coordinator of the Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination, José Daniel Castro, the Coordinator of Household Sample Surveys, Adriana Beringuy, and the POF Manager, Leonardo Santos de Oliveira, as well as other technicians who work on the planning, execution and monitoring of the survey.
The Consumer Expenditure Survey lasts one year and has four stages; The first has been in the field since November 2024. The POF is the basis for the inflation survey and supports several national indicators, in addition to being an international reference for the Brazilian economy, as it captures the population's past and current consumption patterns.
Respondents can confirm the identity of enumerators through the Respondendo ao IBGE portal. The page allows anyone to verify the authenticity of the agents by using the name or ID number, CPF number or registration number displayed on theenumerator's badge.
The national press conference will take place at Casa Brasil IBGE, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and will be broadcast in some capitals, such as Porto Alegre, Natal and Fortaleza.
Broadcast by DigitaL IBGE and the Institute's social media, each press conference aims at bringing together the press, public and private managers, authorities, the academic community, researchers and the group of professionals who use POF data in their studies and work.

The event also marks the reopening of Casa Brasil IBGE for visitors. The location will now house the IBGE Store and Bookstore, when this new space for the institution's memory will be inaugurated.
