Last Thursday (27), at the end of the third day, came to an end the exhibition Casa Brasil IBGE – Space of memory and technology, at the House of Representatives, in Brasília. On the occasion, servers from the IBGE State Superintendency in the Federal District (SES/DF) had the opportunity to show, in information stands installed at Espaço Mário Covas, the main IBGE surveys.

More than 150 persons, including representatives, servants, assistants and visitors to the House of Representatives came to the exhibition and cleared their doubts about surveys of the Institute, in order to obtain information and data, get to know the tools available for access to data, besides finding out more about the work of the IBGE.

Besides two information stands with Internet access, the facility also had two interactive led panels (in horizontal and vertical positions) showing a non-stop display of images of the Institute.

Also a visitor to the exhibition, Marcio Pochmann, president of the IBGE, highlighted: “Possibly the acronym IBGE is among the best known ones by Brazilians, who, in general, do not know much about the entirety and diversity of information. And this form of presentation is very modern, instructive and highlights the visual possibilities so that visitors can have this overall view of the IBGE. Thanks to the team that helped organize and has worked here these last three days.”

Pochmann also highlighted the importance of the proximity between the IBGE and the parliament as the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED), which is part of the Institute's work plan, still need a law of its own.
