IBGE's 90th anniversary program: a week of activities to celebrate memory, technology and the future of the Institute

Activities in comemoration of the IBGE's 90th anniversary have taken place since the start of May, when the first event was held at Palácio Itamaraty. This week of IBGE's anniversary is full of activities, ceremonies and actions, characterized by vitality and participation, starting on Monday and Tuesday (May 25 and 26) in Rio de Janeiro, headquarters of the Institute, and all over Brazil.
On Monday (25), at Casa Brasil IBGE, at Palácio da Fazenda, Rio de Janeiro, there was the launch of the 8th edition of the Survey of Innovation (PINTEC), which is released every three years; of the new 60 m² sized interactive map, with a representation of the recently launched world map, showing the richness of species and the representation of continents in real proportions and the reopening of the Isaac Kerstenetzky Library — memory and Technology Hub. There was also the opening of the 2026 Administrative Event 2026 - Executive Directorate of the IBGE, at the Headquarters of the Institute.
In Paraná, also on the 26th, there was an Official Ceremony at the Legislative Assembly of Paraná for the IBGE's 90th anniversary, following the previous commemorative sessions in the legislative assemblies of Pará (on May 20) and Sergipe (on May 22).
Commemorative events will be held every day ending on the greatest of them (on May 29) at Palácio do Catete, headquarters of president Getúlio Vargas' administration which housed the IBGE in the 1930's.
