The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will launch its 2026 Work Plan in a series of regional events this year as the IBGE celebrates its 90th anniversary. The presentation will take place from January 20 to 26.

The initiative reinforces the Institute's role in producing and disseminating excellent statistical and geographic information and strengthening federative dialogue and rapprochement with society.

According to the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, “the 2026 Work Plan reaffirms the commitment of the entire IBGE to better knowledge of the Brazilian reality in a transparent, participatory and democratic way in the preparation of quality information aimed at public policies for transforming the nation in full transition to the Digital Age.”

The events will have accreditation at 9 am and the presentation of the document will take place from 10 am to 11 am, always led by the president of the IBGE and accompanied by representatives of the directorates and state superintendents.
