Ceremony in Brasília releases survey on persons with disability

The data of the Persons with disability of the 2022 Continuous PNAD module were presented on Friday (7), in Brasília. IBGE officers, researchers from several academic institutions and government authorities took part in the ceremony in the Ministry of Human Rights, hosted by Anna Paula Feminella, National Secretary of Rights of Persons with Disability.
Opening the event, Cimar Azeredo, Acting President of the IBGE, welcomed all those who carried out the 2022 Population Census - whose first results were released on June 28 -, especially the representative of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Junia Quiroga, present in the ceremony. Concerning the module of Persons with disability of the Continuous PNAD, the president reminded the origins of this survey and the efforts to include this group in the questionnaires.
“Now the biggest survey on workforce in Latin America talks about persons with disability: it represents a milestone in the statistics produced in Brazil,” said Azeredo. The figures of the survey were detailed by the technical table, comprising Adriana Beringuy, the PNAD´s coordinator; Luanda Chaves Botelho, an IBGE analyst of Social Indicators, and analysts Luciana Alves dos Santos and Rafael Alves. The Ministry of Planning will use these data to follow up public policies.
