IBGE and Sudene open Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE in Recife

The Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene) and the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will open, on November 25, at 9 am, Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE, in Recife. The inauguration day of this branch of Casa Brasil IBGE will be marked by round tables, announcements and measures, under the guidance of the president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, the superintendent of Sudene, Danilo Cabral, besides authorities and invited participants.
This proposal results from the Sudene-IBGE partnership, which has set actions aimed at the development of the Northeast Region, considering a Technical Cooperation agreement and a workplan signed between the entities.
Casa Brasil IBGE SUDENE will be located in Recife, in the same Building of the Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast. The objective is that, by 2026, when the IBGE celebrates its 90th anniversary, the branch will house host an exhibit about memory and technology, which lies at the basis of the Casa Brasil IBGE project.
At the branch, Sudene and IBGE will enable access to the restricted data room, besides promoting face-to-face and remote activities, such as courses, workshops and graduate programs, in order to build a dialogue about the challenges and opportunities in the use of information and how they can contribute to the monitoring of projects and formulation of specific public policies. It will also be the venue for national and international events.
The facilities will provide access to physical and digital resources, interactive information stands, computers for research and a number of advertising products from the vast assortment of the IBGE, which encompasses a trillion variables and 1.5 billion data on their platforms.
