With the rise of materials, construction prices change by 0.53% in October

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), released today by the IBGE, changed by 0.53% in October, an increase of 0.18 percentage points (p.p.) in relation to the index of September (0.35%). The cumulative index in the last 12 months was 3.86%, above the 3.46% of the immediately previous 12 months. The index of October 2023 was 0.14%.

The national cost of construction, by square meter, which had closed September at R$ 1,773.20, went to R$ 1,782.41 in October, being R$ 1.027.32 relative to material and R$ 755.19 to workforce.

“With a rate of 0.79% in October, materials increased significantly and is the highest since August 2022, staying above the rates of September this year and October 2023. The segment of workforce, in spite of two collective agreements, kept the index of September, 0.16%, recording a drop against October last year,” said Augusto Oliveira, manager of the survey.

From January to October, the cumulative results were: 2.56% (materials) and 4.82% (workforce). The cumulative figures in 12 months stood at 2.91% (materials) and 5.16% (workforce), respectively. 

In October, North region has biggest monthly change

The North Region, with a hike in materials in all the states and with collective agreements in Roraima and in Pará, recorded the biggest regional monthly change in October, 1.58%. The other Major Regions recorded the following results: 0.40% (Northeast), 0.50% (Southeast), 0.42% (South) and 0.17% (Central West).

With an increase in professional categories and in the segment of materials, Roraima had the highest rate in October, 3.08%, followed by Pará (2.98%), under the same conditions.
