IBGE innovates and launches Statistical Yearbook of Brazil as a website

Innovation at the IBGE is in tune with international trends. Therefore, in 2024, the Institute will make available the Statistical Yearbook of Brazil, in its new digital and interactive version, which will be launched on June 26, at Casa Brasil IBGE.
For the first time in its long history, the Statistical Yearbook of Brazil (AEB) will represent a change landmark, being redesigned into a page within the IBGE website, instead of having its traditional printed edition. That is one of the many innovations implemented by the IBGE and it will lead to the increase in the number of users by means of the dissemination and democratization of access to information that are necessary for the knowledge of reality and the exercise of citizenship.
For 88 years, AEB, with its tables, graphs and texts has presented an overall view of the country and of its territorial, environmental, demographic and socioeconomic aspects. The information available in the Yearbook is produced by the IBGE and by other information producers.
The Yearbook comprises the results of several surveys such as the Population Census, Vital Statistics, Annual Survey of Industry, agricultural statistics, Central Registry of Enterprises (CEMPRE), monthly retail sales indexes, besides the main macroeconomic aggregates of the System of National Accounts, among many other indicators.
In continuity to the release of updated data about characteristics of the territory, the Yearbook includes a glossary with the concepts investigated in the surveys and standardized references of each source.
