IBGE releases, on June 14, in Fortaleza, the results of the 2022 Population Census: National Address Files for Statistical Purposes

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) will release on June 14th, at 10 am, the results of the 2022 Population Census: National Address Files for Statistical Purposes (CNEFE), at the headquarters of Banco do Nordeste, in Fortaleza (CE) , located at 5700, Dr. Silas Monguba Av., in the neighborhood of Passaré.
The event will disclose complete addressing attributes of the more than 106 million addresses collected, in accordance with the standard used by the IBGE, including street, number and modifier, complement, location, zip code, type of housing unit visited, type of building, names of establishments, among others.
The resulting information will be available in a disaggregated manner, with a record for each purpose of use of the address, by state or by municipality. An aggregate data set by ZIP code and methodological notes containing aggregated set by Brazil, Major Regions and Federation Units will also be published.
This release in Fortaleza is a complement to CNEFE's national microdata released in advance on May 21 to provide data to assist cities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, devastated by rains and floods at the beginning of last month.
The release will be broadcast by the channel "IBGE Digital" and on the Institute's social media. CNEFE data can be consulted on the IBGE portal and on platforms such as the Census Overview and the Interactive Geographic Platform (PGI), these last two ones can also be viewed and downloaded as interactive maps.
Workshop on 2022 Census Potentialities
On the same date and venue, from 2 pm to 6 pm, the IBGE will hold the workshop A Territory of Information: Potentialities of 2022 Census Data, which will seek to present, in addition to the technical and operational aspects of the survey, its potential for decision-making by local managers .
The Population Census is a national statistical framework, being the main source of sociodemographic and economic data in the country and the only survey capable of providing results at municipal and intra-municipal levels. Census data are fundamental both in public administration and in the social and economic planning of municipalities.
With the aim of helping local managers, scholars, students and other groups understand and use the IBGE tools and the 2022 Census data, the workshop will cover the following topics: What is the Census; Operation numbers; Investigated themes; 2022 Census news; Data potentiality for local managers; Tools and ways to access data (2022 Census Overview, BDIA, PGI, SIDRA); Themes already disclosed and perspectives for future publications.
