Registration open for educators and students in educational event

The production and dissemination of reliable information for children and young people is the theme of the 3rd IBGE Open Doors Seminar for Schools, which will take place next Tuesday, November 13, at the IBGE Center for Information Documentation and Dissemination in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). Those who are interested can register for free at the event's official website.
According to the schedule, Marina Menezes (NexoEDU), Neide Carvalho (Armazenzinho de Dados), Gilberto Vieira (Data_labe), Sarah Nery (Escola NAVE), Maria Carolina Cristianini (Joca), Luiz Eduardo Ricon (MultiRio), Douglas Silveira (Lupa Educação) and Tatiana Miranda (IBGEeduca) will share their experiences preparing lesson contents for children and youngsters.
The IBGE Open Doors Seminar for Schools is a biennial event organized by IBGEeduca, the Institute's website aimed at students, teachers and professionals of the area. The project coordinator, Renata Corrêa, explained that the theme this year is based on the current context, characterized by plenty of information, but not always good quality information.
"The event aims at the exchange of experiences between the IBGE and other professionals working with this audience: a generation that intensely consumes, generates and shares content. Getting to know good initiatives in this field can foster innovation, knowledge and new ideas," said Renata.
In addition, she believes it is important for teachers and students to get familiar with IBGE's work and with where and how to obtain the information produced by the Insitute.
