[Video] Grain harvest surpasses 240 million metric tons

The 2017 grain harvest is expected to hit 240.3 million metric tons in 2017, with an increase of 30.1% in relation to 2016 (184.7 million metric tons), according to the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Peroduction of June, released by the IBGE today in the municipality of Chapecó, Santa Catarina. The state is the ninth biggest grain producer in the country. Carlos Alfredo Guedes, manager of the survey, says that increase results from climate changes which ended up beneficial to crops in 2017.
