Starting this Tuesday (July 01), the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) now welcomes new civil servants who have been selected by means of the National Unified Public Examination (CPNU).

The president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, emphasizes that "after almost a decade, the IBGE is once again receiving new colleagues after holding the biggest public examination in its history of almost 90 years. Now, the institution welcomes with great joy and expectations the new entrants to the largest public survey institution in the country.”

The IBGE has participated in the CPNU by offering 895 vacancies, and 760 applicants having confirmed their interest. Some of the selected candidates still have a deadline to submit their documentation. Only after this stage is completed will it be possible to know exactly how many new employees will actually start their activities at IBGE in this first call for applications from the CPNU. After these procedures are completed, the IBGE will inform the Ministry of Management and Innovation in Public Services (MGI) which vacancies were not filled so that they can authorize a second call.

In order for them to be able to adapt in the best way possible and receive basic information about human resources and the Institution, the successful candidates will go through a New Employee Integration Program. There are scheduled reception activities in all Brazilian states.

The Institute has been planning to give the best possible welcome to the new employees, who will join the teams already working at the institution, so that together they can continue the mission of portraying Brazil with the information necessary for the understanding of its reality and the exercise of citizenship.
