The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) is receiving a delegation from the National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Cape Verde from November 24th to 28th for a technical visit focused on the exchange of experiences in the fields of human resources management, administration, and finance. This initiative is part of South-South Cooperation, and reinforces the commitment of both institutions to modernization and efficiency in statistical production.
The objective of the mission is to identify best practices that can be adapted to the Cape Verdean context, mainly regarding the mobilization of data collection teams, training and monitoring mechanisms, contractual models, and administrative and financial processes that guarantee transparency and quality.
For five days, representatives from the Brazilian National Institute of Statistics (INE) of Cape Verde, Ernestina Tavares Monteiro (Coordinator of the Administrative and Financial Division) and Isis Maria Silva Rodrigues (Coordinator of the Human Resources Division), will participate in presentations, technical meetings, and guided tours.
The program includes topics such as human resources management, and covers practices for engagement and hiring of survey agents, training structure, performance evaluation, and strategies to ensure stability and quality in statistical operations. It also includes administrative and financial management, with tools for budget planning, financial execution, internal control and auditing tools, as well as best practices for efficiency and transparency. An institutional visit to Casa Brasil IBGE is also planned.
This technical visit reinforces cooperation between Brazil and Cape Verde, allowing IBGE, with its consolidated experience, to contribute to the improvement of the NIS internal processes. At the end of the mission, a joint report will be prepared with recommendations and an action plan, consolidating the lessons learned and defining practical measures for implementation.
