The Federative Caravan of the federal government will be held in São Luís (MA), on September 11 and 12 at Multicenter SEBRAE. During the event, several public bodies, among which, the IBGE, will make information available to the public in their respective areas. At the stand, IBGE servants will have the opportunity to give visibility to the surveys and actions developed by the Institute, and offer guidance to state and municipal managers. The event includes lectures, services provided and technical assistance by several federal institutions, and aims at promoting instituttional engagement between the  different government levels: federal, statel and municipal. The project seeks to establish cooperative actions and a permanent communication channel among federal entities. According to the superintendent of the IBGE/MA, Marcelo Melo: “The Federative Caravan is an excelent opportunity to get closer to municipal authorities, especially mayors”, claimed Mr. Melo.

IBGE's stand

The State Superintendence (SES/MA) team will be responsible for providing assistance at the IBGE stand, where mayors, advisors, secretaries, citizens, and other participants can ask questions about the Institute's products and learn about its databases and information channels. Superintendent Marcelo Melo emphasizes the importance of the Caravan: "At this event, we have the opportunity to make IBGE data available in a clear, concise manner, and also offer the possibility of extending a partnership with the municipality to provide our information," Mr. Melo emphasizes.

In addition to IBGE, around 10 ministries will participate in the Caravan in São Luís, including the Ministries of Culture and Racial Equality. Agencies such as the Post Office, Caixa Econômica Federal, FUNASA, ABIN, and AGU will also be present. At the IBGE stand, mayors, advisors, secretaries, and other participants will be able to ask questions about the Institute's products, learn about its databases and information channels, and check the results of the 2022 Population Census and other surveys.
