National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.69% in November

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), estimated by IBGE in partnership with Caixa, recorded a change of 0.69% in November, advancing 0.18 percentage points in relation to October (0.51%). This result was influenced by the salary increases in Minas Gerais, following collective work agreement. The current index surpassed that of November of 2009 (0.33%). The accumulated index from January to November was 7.08%, above that obtained in the same period of 2009 (5.28%). In the last twelve months, the change of 7.65% was also superior to the 7.26% recorded in the immediately previous twelve months.

 

The national cost of construction per square meter, which in October was R$ 761.74, changed to R$ 767.03 in November, R$ 432.38 relative to materials and R$ 334.65 to labor force.

 

 

The share of materials registered the same change in the previous month (0.50%), while labor force registered an acceleration of 0.41 percentage points, changing from 0.53% in October to 0.94% in November.

In the year, materials rose by 4.78%, above the 3.83% of the same period a year ago. In this same period, labor force (10.19%) was also superior to the result of January to November of 2009 (7.31%). In the last twelve months the accumulated indexes were: 5.25% (materials) and 10.93% (labor force).

 

Southeast Region was a highlight in November

 

Strongly influenced by the salary increases of Minas Gerais, the Southeast Region, with a high of 1.19%, was the only one to stand above the national average (0.69%). The remaining regional results were: 0.45% (Northeast); 0.28% (North); 0.27% (Central-West) and 0.20% (South).

 

The Central-West region recorded the highest accumulated indexes in the year (8.85%) and in twelve months (9.30%), while the South recorded the lowest rates in these periods, 6.13% and 6.37%, respectively.

 

 

The regional costs, per square meter, were:

R$ 809.74 (Southeast); R$ 776.99 (North); R$ 745.60 (South); R$ 745.26 (Central-West) and R$ 719.00 (Northeast).

 

Minas Gerais recorded the highest rise

 

Due to the salary increases following collective work agreement, Minas Gerais registered the highest monthly rate (4.97%).

The states with the lowest changes were: Paraná (0.10%); Pernambuco (0.11%); Santa Catarina and Goiás, both with 0.13%.

 

The lowest accumulated indexes were recorded by Roraima, 3.74% in the year and 4.02% in twelve months.
