IPCA-15 of November increased by 0.49%

The Extended National Consumer Price Index - 15 (IPCA-15) increased by 0.49% in November, a rate higher than the one registered in October (0.30%).  With this result, the index accumulated in the year was 5.79%, above the same value of the previous year (3.64%).  In the last 12 months the rate reached 6.54%, above the value of the 12 immediately previous months (6.26%).

From October to November, once more, food products accounted for the acceleration of the index. The group Food Products and Beverages, which changed from 0.05%, in October, to 0.90% in November, accounted for 0.20 percentage points of the index of the month, which means, 42% of the rate.  The rate was influenced by the item meats, which increased by 4.52% and brought the highest individual contribution in the month: 0.10 percentage points.  Also in November, stood out the increases of black beans (7.65%), refined sugar (5.13%), jerked meat (4.55%), chicken (1.86%), rice (1.33%) and pasteurized milk (1.18%).

On the other hand, the items of some food products increased less, as for example, meal not at home  (from 0.84% to 0.68%), or decreased, such as carioca beans (from 3.29% to -2.54%).

In relation to the result in the year, the growing rate of prices of food products reached 11.57%, considerably above the result of the same period of the previous year (8.22%).

For non-food products, the result of November was the same as the one registered in October: 0.37%.  From October to November, some important items in the expenditure of families decelerated, especially apparel, which changed from 1.24% to 0.56%, articles for household repair, from 1.89% to 1.50%, and wages of household employees, from 1.11% to 0.85%, and  water and sewage account, from 1.37% to 0.15%.

Regarding non-food products, the major influences in the month came from electricity (from -0.26% to 0.36%), gasoline (from 0.01% to 0.33%) and condominium maintenance fees (from -0.15% to 0.30%).

In relation to the areas surveyed, Brasília (1.03%) recorded the highest change, standing out the increase of the liter of gasoline (12.20%) and alcohol (16.31%).  The lowest result was registered in Belo Horizonte (0.26%).  Below, the results by areas:
