Minister Bruno Moretti (MPO) visits IBGE headquarters in Rio de Janeiro

New minister of Planning and Budget (MPO) was an IBGE official at the Directorate of Surveys after passing civil service examination in 2002.
The president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann received today (14) at the headquarters of the Institute, in Rio de Janeiro, from 3 to 5 pm, minister Bruno Moretti, from the Monistry of Planning and Budget (MPO).
It was the minister's first visit to the IBGE headquarters, in an agenda about the ongoing actions of the Institute'ss technical departments, including Census Operations, Survey and Indicators, Technologicsl innovations, Teaching and Training, Budget and Communication.

The ministe started his talk with the IBGE Board of Directors recalling his experience at the Institute, having passed the examination in 2022 and started working in 2003.
“I send a hug to all IBGE civil servants. I congratulate the IBGE, my first job after ai graduated in Economics. I would like to thank the warm welcome of president Marcio and his staff, and once more, send a hug to everyone at the IBGE," said the minister.
Marcio Pochmann spoke about the growing importance of the IBGE and the public recognition with the visit of authorities. “Today we were honored to receive our minister of PLanning and Budget, Bruno Moretti, who also started his professional life at the IBGE, in a civil service examination in 2003. It was a great pleasure to present to him our work plan for this year, and the planing for coming years 2026 to 2032.”.
Pochmann also presented details of the IBGE's 90th anniversary celebration: “The minister has made clear not only how much he appreciates this institution, but also his commitment to help it in its surveys, its demand for budget and, above all, the movement of integration of databases, administrative records, which are fundamental pieces in the construction of SINGED, the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data. Congratulations to the IBGE, which has been acknowledged by the presence of several ministers, and gets to its 90th anniversary very strong and dynamic and ready to go on and provide an even better portrait of our country.”
