It's back-to-school season, and Brazilian educators can find a wide range of activities and educational resources on IBGEeduca, rigorously aligned with the guidelines of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), for planning and school activities throughout 2026.
The website works as a bridge between IBGE's technical and scientific information and the classroom, providing updated and engaging content that reflects the diverse realities of the national territory. By integrating these materials into the curriculum, teachers can ensure that their students have access to official and reliable information, facilitating the understanding of various aspects of Brazil, its population, and its territory.
Activities area
The proposed activities are structured as lesson plans, facilitating direct implementation by teachers, with suggestions ranging from Early Childhood Education to High School. These proposals are segmented by subject and educational level, focusing on the use of IBGE information to explore themes about the Brazilian population and territory, allowing students to visualize the practical application of statistics and geography. In addition to focusing on data analysis, many activities address fundamental conceptual themes, providing the necessary theoretical basis for students not only to read the numbers, but also to develop a critical sense of what this information represents for the social and economic development of the country.
Resources area
The IBGEeduca resources area offers a set of support tools, designed to enrich the teaching-learning experience, with maps, videos, digital books, and special materials on various topics. Among the highlights, teachers can access the digital version of the Geographic School Atlas, an essential interactive tool for the study of the Brazilian territory.
IBGEeduca for students
In addition to direct support for teachers, IBGEeduca provides exclusive sections for children and young people where learning happens autonomously and enjoyably. In these areas, students find a safe environment to conduct research about Brazil, with texts written in simple, direct, and accessible language, ideal for developing schoolwork and individual studies. The portal transforms the search for knowledge into a fun experience through playful content, games, and interactive maps, allowing children and adolescents to "learn by playing" and feel like an active part of knowledge-building of the population and territory where they live.
Teacher's Blog
Finally, to strengthen this network of mutual support, we invite all education professionals to follow and participate in the Teacher's Blog on IBGEeduca. The section is dedicated to the exchange of experiences demonstrating how the institute's resources can be applied in pedagogical practice in the different regions of the country. By publishing their educational practices on the blog, teachers share ways of working with information about Brazil in the classroom. Thus, they can divide with other blog readers their challenges and successes in the pedagogical use of statistical and geographical information, encouraging a type of education which is increasingly connected to the national reality.
