The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) is preparing a Simplified Selection Process for temporary employees, aiming at strengthening its operational capacity and ensuring the continuity of statistical and geographic surveys on a national scale. Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) was officially hired to organize it.
The next simplified selection process will offer 8,480 positions for the role of Surveys and Mapping Agent (APM) and 1,100 positions for the role of Data Collection and Quality Supervisor (SCQ). The publication of the notices is scheduled for November 2025, with tests in January 2026 and publication of the final result in March of the same year.
The president of the IBGE, Marcio Pochmann, highlighted the strategic importance of the new event: “The PSS for temporary workers is fundamental for the operation of statistical and geographic surveys in Brazil. It allows the hiring of professionals who work in collecting updated data with a national reach.”
And he added: “For the participants, it represents an opportunity for professional qualification and technical experience. In summary, the process reinforces the role of the IBGE as a strategic institution for national development, expanding its operational capacity and strengthening the Brazilian Statistical and Geographic System.”
The initiative reinforces the IBGE's commitment to producing reliable and updated information, essential for the formulation of public policies, territorial planning and decision-making in various areas of society.
Information about the event, such as the launch of the notice, schedule and registrations, will be published exclusively on the official channels of the IBGE and the FGV.
