Advisory body established by Law, Council is recreated
on request of the current IBGE administration

Not working for two decades, the Presidency communicates the recreation of the IBGE´s Technical Council, a strategic collegiate body to advise and follow up technical activities, as well as to guide the planning and execution of the IBGE´s actions.

The Council comprises representatives from the Ministries of Defense (MD), Planning and Budget (MPG), Health (MS), Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), Managing and Innovation of Public Services (MGI), Labor (MT) and Social Security (MPS), as well as Brazilian citizens of renowned representativeness and technical skills.

After being inoperative for two decades, the IBGE administration recreated the Technical Council, a collegiate body key to follow up technical activities by issuing advices and guidelines on the planning and execution of the IBGE´s actions. With the resumption of this important internal advisory body for technical issues related to the IBGE´s working areas, the institution reorganizes in order to look after even more the quality of the production of geoscientific and statistical information, at the same time it qualifies to coordinate the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED) in Brazil," highlights Marcio Pochmann, President of the IBGE.

The recreation was published by the Ministry of Planning and Budget in the Official Gazette of June 6. The first meeting will be on June 27 at 10 am.
