The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) released today (24) the schedule for the week of February 24-28. The IBGE Schedule brings events, internal and external meetings and appointments of the Presidency, Directorates and Advisories, IBGE State Superintendencies and the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE).
Since January 2024, the IBGE weekly schedule is released every Monday at 9 am and includes the schedule for the days after the day it is published. Check the complete schedule for this week on channel IBGE Schedule.
Presidency
On Wednesday (26), at 10 am, representatives of the IBGE Presidency participate in the release of the 2022 Population Census: Education: Preliminary Sample Results. The event will take place at the Cultural Center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in Porto Alegre (RS).
On Thursday (27), at 2 pm, a Presidency´s team takes part in a meeting on the Schedule of Census Operations.
Directorates and Advisories
On Monday (24), during the entire day, ENCE teachers participate in the Symposium on Measuring Migration in Latin America: Taking advantage of digital tracking, records, censuses and surveys, at the College of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic, in Montevideo, Uruguay. The event will take the entire week.
On Tuesday (25), at 10 am, a team of the Directorate of Surveys (DPE) takes part in a meeting of the United Nations Working Group: Workflow 5 on FAIR and reproducibility. At the same time, a team of the Directorate of Geosciences (DGC) presents the proposal of the typology of the National Survey of Regional Development and Land Use Planning.
Still on Tuesday, at noon, DGC representatives participate in the ECLAC´s Fourth Meeting of the Working Group on Environmental Statistics. At 2 pm, a DGC team takes part in the event 2025 Outskirts Caravan.
On Wednesday (26), at 8:30 am, DPE representatives participate in an ordinary meeting of the 2022 Census Technical Committee.
At 1 pm, DGC members take part in a meeting of the pilot project on Marine Spatial Planning for the Marine Region of the South of Brazil.
At 2 pm, a DPE team participates in the workshop: A Territory of Information: Potentialities of the 2022 Census Data, in Porto Alegre (RS).
On Thursday (27), at 9 am, the Coordination of Social Communication (CCS) carries out the press conference of the Monthly Continuous National Sample Household Survey.
On Friday (28), at noon, DGC representatives take part in a meeting of the UN-GGIM Administration Council: Americas. At 1 pm, ENCE teachers participate in an examining board at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ).
State Superintendencies
On Monday (24), at 2:30 pm, a team of the State Superintendence of Bahia (SES-BA) takes part in an internal workshop on Natural Regions (CMA/RJ and GMAGs BA/PA/SC/GO).
On Wednesday (26), at 8:30 am, representatives of the State Superintendence of Sergipe (SES-SE) participate in a training meeting on Weighting Areas. At 4 pm, members of SES-BA present "Brazilian biomes: an overview of the IBGE role in portraying reality", in the opening of the 3rd Knowledge Week - Bahia Biomes: Diversity, Traditional, Technological and Social Knowledge.
