Digital Era Conference: eight Working Groups start discussions about SINGED and regional development this Tuesday at 2 pm

Eight Working Groups of the Digital Era Conference start discussions this Tuesday (30)

On the second day of the National Conference of Data Producers and Users, promoted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in partnership with the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), eight working groups start, at 2 pm, today, discussions about digital sovereignty and the consolidation of the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data, SINGED. The Conference is being held at the Maracanã Campus of UERJ, in the north area of the capital of rio de Janeiro. Registration for in-person participation in the WGs is free and still open at the IBGE Virtual Shop.

The Conference will last until Friday, August 02, and present six thematic round tables and 23 working groups, gathering more than 500 technicians and more than 100 speakers and round table and group coordinators, bringing together experts, representatives of tech giants, public managers, government data companies, multilateral organizations and social movements, scholars and students, and civil society organizations to discuss topics such as digital sovereignty and the consolidation of the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data, SINGED. The Working Groups meeting today will discuss aspects such as values and guidelines, composition, participation of society, legislation, quality and financial resources within the SINGED, besides the risks and opportunities for the Northeast in the Digital Era. 

The Northeast and the Digital Era 

The superintendent of SUDENE – Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast, is Danilo Cabral, Working Group  (GT) 8 called "Opportunities for the Northeast in the Digital Era", which will discuss the importance of surveys and actions in the Northeast, in different segments, aiming at the promotion of regional development considering innovation and technology in governance and in the role played by institutions before social, environmental and economic challenges.
