IBGE: Last week for in-person participation in the Digital Era conference at UERJ

After the global tech outage, the debate about data Sovereignty becomes even more urgent and fundamental for Brazil and the world. In order to diagnose risks and opportunities in the Digital Era, the IBGE organizes its greatest gathering participants from Brazil and abroad.
With six thematic roundtables and 25 working groups, the IBGE conference now has its last week for registration of in-persons and remote participants.
Each in-person participant will receive a world map with Brazil in the center of the projection and will receive a certificate issued by the IBGE’s National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE).
There are remaining vacancies for some roundtables and working groups. Registration is open on the IBGE website.
Mega international conference
The event will gather more than 500 technicians and more than 100 lecturers and coordinators of roundtables and working groups.
For five days, the event will have previously unseen presentations and talks by representatives of governmental agencies, of more than 100 survey institutes, professional associations, from Brazil and abroad.
There will be more than 35 hours of roundtables streamed. Working group sessions will not be streamed, but there will be online coverage by the Digital IBGE and on social media. There will be more than 100 hours of group debates in three days.
More than 100 professionals are expected to attend the conference, including journalists, bloggers, and influencers who will participate in-person and remotely, from Brazil and other parts of the world.
The facility at UERJ will welcome part of the Casa Brasil IBGE, in its first moving exhibition. With interactive giant maps, and information about nine macro areas dealt with by the Institute.
Digital Era Conference
The National Conference of Data Producers and Users will be held from July 29 to August 2 at the State University of Rio de Janeiro – UERJ (Av. Maracanã, 524 – Rio de Janeiro – RJ). Its mains objectives are to discuss the risks and opportunities derived from the current Governance in the Digital Era and promote the consolidation of the National System of Geosciences, Statistics and Data (SINGED).
