The National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE) opened the selection process of the postgraduate program in Population, Territory and Public Statistics. Altogether, 20 vacancies will be offered to the Master program and ten vacancies to the PhD program. Enrollment for the program, which happens once in a year, should be made through the link available here.

Enrollment finishes on September 16, the written test will be applied on October 18 and the interviews will take place between November 26 and 27. Classes are scheduled to begin in March 2025. ENCE reserves from 25% to 30% of the vacancies to black and brown persons, indigenous persons and members of traditional peoples and quilombola communities. Those interested in competing should declare it during enrollment.

"The selection process comprises three eliminatory and qualifying phases: the first one is documentation checking, which should be complete; the second one is the application of the discursive test on themes related to the program; and the last one is the interview. It is important that candidates fulfill the deadlines and get prepared to participate in the phases of the selection process," explained Angelita Carvalho, ENCE´s Coordinator of Post-graduation.

ENCE´s program aims at training skilled professionals and researchers to develop and apply theoretical approaches, models and methods in the analysis of socio-spatial processes, as well as to produce public statistics and information that improve the knowledge on the territorial and populational reality.

"The program provides a large amount of scholarships. We expect that the number of candidates increases, since the adjustment in the value of the Master and PhD scholarships, currently at R$2,200 for Master and R$3,100 for PhD, allows to accumulate with paid activities." states Angelita Carvalho.

ENCE´s Master and PhD programs are grade 5 in the CAPES assessment system, being recognized for the excellence of the academic staff and for the consistency and up-to-dateness of the teaching and research lines. The program has the differential of being part of the IBGE, providing opportunities of direct contact with the production and analysis of public statistics.

ENCE´s academic staff comprises qualified doctors in several areas, including Statistics, Demography, Economics, Computing and Systems Engineering, Geography, Production Engineering, History, Public Health and Environment. On top of that, ENCE counts with doctors in Population, Territory and Public Statistics trained in the program itself.
