Ms. Tebet highlighted the importance of the IBGE in the country: “Our meeting was very fruitful, about the IBGE’s strategic plan for 2024 and the strategic plan conceived by the Ministry of Planning and Budget, within the administration of President Lula, for the current year. Without the IBGE we cannot deal with public policies efficiently, it is not possible to talk about the Brazil wee want,” she stated.

On behalf of the ten thousand plus IBGE servants, Mr. Pochmann thanked for the visit and mentioned cooperative projects. “We are honored to receive Minister Simone Tebet, and to see how she interacts with the institute. This meeting shows how positive this year has been. We can see a planning proposal and a Project at integration that is necessary for Brazil, and that has been left aside for long. The IBGE, which has a background of 88 years in activity, is a key partner to promote this important proposal by the Ministry of Planning and Budget,” Mr. Pochmann explains.

Besides Ms. Tebet and Mr. Pochmann, other attendees to the meeting were Secretary of Institutional Affairs for the MPO, João Victor Villaverde de Almeida, MPO assistant Cecília Ramos, the IBGE’s Executive Director, Flavia Vinhaes, Director of Surveys, Elizabeth Hypólito, Director of Geosciences, Ivone Batista, Assistant Director of Information Technology, Arnaldo Barreto, Assistant General Coordinator of ENCE (National School of Statistical Sciences), Cesar Augusto Marques da Silva, General Coordinator of Social Communication, Bruno De Vizia, besides the Assistants to the President, Luis Vitagliano e Denis Maracci Giménez.
