From August 2024, the volume of services grew 2.5%, marking the 17th consecutive positive result. The increase was followed by four of the five activities and saw growth in less than half (45.8%) of the 166 types of services. Among the sectors, transportation, support services to transportation and mailing (3.3%) had the main positive impact, driven mainly by increased revenue in airway transportation of passengers; cargo transportation logistics; road transportation of cargo; highway concessionaires; railway transportation of cargo; and pipeline transport.

The remaining increases came from information and communication (3.4%); professional, administrative, and complementary services (2.9%); and services rendered to households (1.2%), mainly due to increased revenue from portals, content providers, and other internet information services; software development and licensing; information technology consulting; custom software development; data processing, application service providers, and internet hosting services; and technical support, maintenance, and other information technology services, in the first sector; advertising spaces provision; cleaning activities; legal activities; general business intermediation through applications or e-commerce platforms; and loyalty programs and discount cards, in the second; and catering services, hotels, and restaurants, in the last.

Other services (-2.7%) accounted for the only negative influence during the month, mainly due to the lower revenue from support services to business activities: securities brokerages; stock exchange administration and organized over-the-counter markets; and motor vehicle maintenance and repair.

From January to August 2025, the services sector increased 2.6%, with four of the five activities recording positive increase rates and growth in more than half (51.2%) of the 166 types of services. Among the sectors, the most significant positive contribution came from information and communication (5.5%), driven mainly by increased revenue from companies operating in the segments of portals, content providers, and other Internet information services; software development and licensing; information technology consulting; data processing, application service providers, and Internet hosting services; technical support, maintenance, and other information technology services; and custom software development.

The remaining increases came from transportation, support services to transportation and mailing (2.4%); professional, administrative, and complementary services (2.5%); and services rendered to households (1.3%), mainly explained by the increase in revenue of companies operating in airway transportation of passengers; cargo logistics; inland cargo navigation; airport operations; and pipeline transportation, in the first sector; advertising spaces provision; general business intermediation through applications or e-commerce platforms; business management consulting; general cleaning; management of non-financial intangible assets; and reservation services related to accommodation, in the second; and hotels; catering services; and restaurants, in the last.

Conversely, other services (-2.2%) accounted for the only negative influence, largely driven by lower revenue from support services to financial activities: credit card administration; securities brokerage; motor vehicle maintenance and repair; and computer and peripheral equipment maintenance and repair.
