National Index of Civil Construction changes by 0.88% in June

In June, the National Civil Construction Index (SINAPI) increased by 0.88%, and stood 0.45 percentage points (p.p.) above the May rate of 0.43%. This rate is the highest observed since August 2022. The cumulative index in the last 12 months was 5.34%, above the 5.01% recorded in the previous twelve months.

The national cost of construction per square meter rose from R$1,826.53 in May to R$1,842.65 in June, with R$1,056.33 corresponding to materials and R$786.32 to workforce.

The share of materials increased by 0.41%, falling 0.10 percentage points from May (0.51%). Against the index of June a year ago (-0.05%), there was an increase of 0.46 percentage points.

The share of workforce, influenced by collective bargaining agreements signed during the period, increased by 1.52%, with an increase of 1.19 percentage points against May (0.33%). From June 2024 (1.40%), there was an increase of 0.12 percentage points.

The first half of the year closed at 2.07% for materials and 4.06% for workforce. The cumulative figures for the last twelve months were 4.98% for materials and 5.87% for workforce.

In June, the Central-West Region recorded the highest monthly change

Influenced by the increases in the share of workforce in Goiás and the Federal District, the Central-West region had the largest regional change in June, registering 1.32%. The other Major Regions presented the following results: 0.46% (North), 0.45% (Northeast), 1.28% (Southeast) and 0.67% (South).

Espírito Santo records biggest increase in June

Espírito Santo was the state that recorded the highest rate in June, 3.06%, with an increase in the share of materials and a collective bargaining agreement signed in professional categories. Next came the states of the Federal District (2.70%), Goiás (2.12%), Maranhão (2.05%), São Paulo (2.04%), Rondônia (1.82%), and Santa Catarina (1.42%), also affected by an increase in the share of workforce.
