IBGE reveals per capita household income and Coefficient of Regional Imbalance for 2024

In compliance with Decree 9,291/2018, the IBGE releases today (29) the figures for monthly nominal per capita household income (PCHI) and Coefficients of Regional Imbalance (CRI) relative t o 2024 for Brazil and three Major Regions: North, Northeast and Central West, based on the Continuous National Household Sample Survey (Continuous PNAD).

In 2024, nominal per capita household income of the Central West was R$ 2,399, above the national average (R$ 2.069), with a Coefficient of Regiona Imbalance equals to 1.00. The Northeast had an income of  R$ 1,341 and a CRI of 0.65. And the North, an income of R$ 1,401 and a CRI of 0.68.

The coefficients are calculated according to figures of per capita household income against the regional average, collected by the Continuous National Household Sample Survey - Continuous PNAD.

The calculation of CRI considers income from work and from other sources, received in the month of reference of the survey, with cumulative information obtained in the firt interviews of Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4 of Continuous PNAD that form the year 2024, for the result of this reference year. 

In compliance with Decree 9,291/2018, t the coefficients will be applied in the calculation of the financial charges levied on the financing of credit operations with resources from the  Northeast Financing Fund (FNE), the North Financing Fund (FNO) and the Central-West Financing Fund (FCO).
