In October, National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.14%

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi) changed 0.14% in October, which represented an increase of 0.12% in relation to September (0.02%). Therefore, the cumulative index over the last 12 months was 2.44%, below the rate of 2.68% recorded in the 12 immediately previous months. In October 2022, the index had been 0.38%.
The national cost of construction, per square meter, which in September had been R$1,713.87, changed to R$1,716.30 in October, with R$998.35 relative to material and R$717.95, to workforce.
The parcel of material remained virtually stable, with a rate of 0.02%, rising 0.24 percentage points in relation to the September´s rate (-0.22%). Considering the index in October 2022 (0.04%), it dropped 0.02 percentage points.
Meanwhile, the share relative to workforce, with a rate of 0.31%, fell 0.05 percentage points in relation to the September´s index (0.36%). It fell 0.57 percentage points (0.88%) in relation to October 2022.
In the first ten months this year, the cumulative indexes were -0.29% (material) and 5.88% (workforce). In the last 12 months. the cumulative indexes stayed at -0.21% (material) and 6.34% (workforce).
North Region registers highest monthly change in October
Having the share of material increased in four out of its seven states and collective work agreements in Roraima and Pará, the North Region recorded the highest regional change for the second time in a row (0.78%). The remaining Major Regions recorded the following results: 0.18% (Northeast), 0.03% (Southeast), 0.11% (South) and -0.06% (Central-West).
Rio Grande do Norte records the highest rise
With a rise in the parcels of material and workforce, Rio Grande do Norte was the state that recorded the highest rate in October (1.60%), followed by Pará (1.36%) and Roraima (1.18%), under the influence of collective work agreements.
