In October, National Index of Civil Construction was 1.01%

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi) was of 1.01% in October, the third lowest rate of 2021 and 0.13 percentage points above the previous month rate (0.88%). The cumulative rate in the last 12 months was 21.22%, slightly below the 22.06% recorded recorded over the 12 months prior to that period. The cumulative index in the year was 16.79%. In October 2020, the index was 1.71%.

The national cost of construction per square meter changed from R$1,475.96 in September to R$1,490.88 in October, of which R$888.45 were relative to materials and R$602.43 to labor force.

The share of materials increased 1.27%, a rise of 0.06 percentage points (pp) over the preceding month (1.21%). In relation to October 202 (3.17%), there was decrease of 1.90 percentage points.

The share of labor force, with a rate of 0.64% and one collective bargaining, recorded high of 0.24 percentage points over the index of September (0.40%). Compared to October 2020 (0.04%), there was a rise of 0.60 percentage points.

The cumulative index in the year are 25.08% (material) and 6.42% (labor force), whereas in twelve months they stood at 33.39% (materials) and 6.88% (labor force), respectively.

North Region registers highest monthly change

The North Region, with a significant increase seen in the share of materials in all states and one collective agreement executed in Pará, stood with the highest regional change in October, 2.57%.

The other regions recorded the following figures: 0.67% (Northeast), 1.06% (Southeast), 0.45% (South) and 1.22% (Central-West).

The regional costs, per square meter, were: R$ 1.475,26 (North); R$ 1.395,40 (Northeast); R$ 1.551,51 (Southeast); R$ 1.572,52 (South) and R$ 1.470,62 (Central-West).

Pará boosts

With a high in the share of materials and collective bargaining recorded in the professional categories, Pará was the state with the highest monthly change, reaching 4.61%.

Sinapi, created in 1969, has the purpose of producing information on costs and indexes in a systematic way and with a national coverage, in order to elaborate and assess budgets as well as monitor costs.
