National Index of Civil Construction changes 0.28% in November

The National Index of Civil Construction (Sinapi), estimated by the IBGE in partnership with CAIXA, recorded a change of 0.28% in November getting very close to the October rate (0.27%). Considering the January-November period, the result was 5.43%. In the last twelve months, the rate was 6.12%, above the 6.03% registered in the previous twelve-month period. The national cost of construction per square meter, which closed at R$ 960.17 in October, changed to R$ 962.84 in November, with R$ 515.50 relative to materials and R$ 447.34 to labor force.
The share relative to materials registered a change of 0.41%, increasing 0.23 percentage points in relation to the previous month (0.18%). Labor force registered a change of 0.13% and stood 0.24 percentage points lower than the October rate (0.37%). Cumulative figures in the year were: 3.67% (material) and 7.55% (labor force) and, in twelve months, 4.18% (material) and 8.45% (labor force), respectively.
Northeast Region registered the biggest change
With a change of 0.40%, the Northeast Region recorded the biggest rise in November. The other figures were: 0.35% (North), 0.14% (Southeast), 0.38% (South) and 0.26% (Central-West Region).
Regional costs, by square meter, were: R$ 990.96 (North); R$ 890.48 (Northeast); R$ 1,001.46 (Southeast); R$ 997.95 (South) and R$ 975.18 (Central-West Region).
Rio Grande do Norte registered the biggest change
Due to the pressure from salary increases following a collective work agreement, Rio Grande do Norte registered the biggest monthly change: 4.59%.
SINAPI, created in 1969, has the purpose of producing information on costs and indexes in a systematic way and with a national coverage, in order to elaborate and evaluate budgets as well as monitor costs.
